About you

As a Senior or Principal Data Engineer at RevoData, you take a leading role in Databricks engagements that go beyond just platform setup.

The work combines hands-on delivery with advisory input: helping clients assess, design, migrate, and evolve their Databricks platforms. Projects differ, priorities shift, and strong technical judgment matters just as much as implementation skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and contribute to a wide range of Databricks-focused engagements, from platform builds and migrations to advisory work such as value assessments and architecture reviews.
  • Take ownership of architectural choices around data warehousing, data modeling, and scalable ETL/ELT patterns – and translate them into working solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to set expectations and communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly.
  • Steer projects through technical and organisational challenges with pragmatism and transparency.
  • Provide technical direction within teams by setting standards, reviewing designs, and mentoring other engineers.
  • Stay hands-on through development in Python, SQL, and modern cloud data stacks.
  • Contribute to Databricks expertise across projects and internally by shaping patterns, standards, and ways of working.

What you bring:

  • Hands-on responsibility for at least 4 production-grade, cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), where you played a leading role in design, implementation, and delivery.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and scalable ETL/ELT patterns in real-world environments.
  • Knowledge of Spark fundamentals and execution concepts, and how they influence performance, scalability, and design decisions in production.
  • Fluency in Python and SQL, applied in production environments.
  • A high level of independence – you’re comfortable figuring things out, making decisions, and standing behind them.
  • Experience guiding and mentoring other engineers, setting standards and best practices.
  • A track record of visible ownership: communicating trade-offs, risks, and progress openly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on Databricks experience, with the ambition to grow (or already operate) as a Databricks specialist at senior or principal level.

This role is open to Senior and Principal level candidates. For corresponding salary details, please see the Additional Info section at the bottom of this vacancy.

Proficiency in Dutch is required, with exceptions for candidates who are Databricks certified and have advanced experience on the platform.
